I’m sure many of you got to visit the site of my new book, Good and Easy Eats, this past weekend, or at least got a peek at the new cover design on this blog. Well, I’m having last minute “wonderings” about the subtitle. I’d love your thoughts and input.
The whole goal of this cookbook is to supply simple, inexpensive and wholesome versions of really common recipes. I want the book and its recipes to appeal to a broad audience- to all diets and lifestyles. So no matter if you’re a committed carnivore, a vegan-want-to-be, a lifelong vegetarian or have a restricted diet because of food intolerances and allergies, you’ll find this your “go to” cookbook.
So I think the title is effective at communicating this, but I’m having second thoughts about my subtitle. It’s currently “Wholesome recipes for a lifetime of good eating”. I’m wondering about changing it to “Wholesome recipes for everyday people” or some other variation of that. (You probably notice I’m slipping in “Everyday” and “Wholesome”- I just can’t get away from those terms!).
I’d love to hear any input you all might have on this.
Thanks!
if the title is good and easy eats then good relates to “whole” and easy should relate to the concept that if is wholesome eating but it easy to make so to me it seems you are halfway trying to reinforce the title so not sure what lifetime or people have to do with the ability to produce wholesome good food easily.
I think the emphasis should be on the whole food back to the earth concept and that it can be done easily.
people and lifetime are the stated obvious and not necessary in my opinion but then who am i?
I like the way you have it now.
Personally I think Wholesome recipes for everyday people is good and would attract more people.
It says that the recipes will not be gourmet, they would be simple, something the kids will like. Something a busy person could put together. At least that is what the term “everyday people” says to me.
The other subtitle doesn’t really speak to me or I don’t really read much into it.
Just my opinion
I like “Easy Everyday Wholesome Recipes” or “Healthy Easy Recipes” or the one you had “Wholesome Recipes for everyday people”. I think it tells the consumer that the recipes are easy and for anyone and they are healthy. Also, you could use your word “Wholemade” in the title. Can’t wait to get your new book! When is the release date? I need to put an order in for our chiropractic office, but I may wait til release date and make one big order. Thanks Kim!
Hi Kim,
I really like wholesome recipes for a lifetime of good eating. Wholesome reminds me of wholefoods. I love your simple easy style of cooking. This is the joy of your cookbooks. The food is good for you and it tastes great!
Plant-Based recipes for Everyone to Enjoy!
Somehow, I think the cover has to reveal what is actually inside, without using the V word.
Real food for real people — everyday.
love it just the way it is…
Yes, I like “Wholesome recipes for everyday people” better!
Since you want to appeal to “all diets and lifestyles,” how about simply, Wholesome Recipes for All?
How about what you said above –
“Simple, Inexpensive and Wholesome”
I think that would be perfect!!
May Papa God continue His abundant blessings in all you do!!
Chris
I think that I like the subtitle “Wholesome recipes for everyday people” better. Sue
I like “for everyday people”, if feels a little less daunting.
I think wholesome recipes for everyday people is good…it would catch my attention.
Thanks for the suggestion!
Thanks!
